What is this job about?
As a technical product designer (m/f), you create designs of components and assembly units. With the help of a CAD program, you generate three-dimensional models and production drawings. Furthermore, you also generate parts lists, perform calculations and prepare accompanying technical documents.

For our designing engineers you are a great help in their daily work. You support them in completing and finishing drawings and that’s the way how you can benefit from experts´ knowledge.

As a technical product designer (m/f), you won´t only work on your PC. Again and again you are in close contact with fitters and production to have you parts checked for practical feasibility.
 

Where do you work?
In the first few weeks of the first training year, the basic training in the field of metal working is on the curriculum, i. e. you learn the various manufacturing possibilities and you are allowed to assist in our production department. In addition to that, you will learn the basics of technical drawing. Starting with hand drawing, the next step will be computer-based designing. By the middle of your first year of training, you will get to know our machines in several workshops.

From the second year on, your engineering capabilities will be extended in the technical office through individual small projects. This year of apprenticeship also includes the final exam part 1 allowing you to apply the knowledge you have gained so far.

At the beginning of the third apprenticeship year, you will be sent with other apprentices to a training course, where you will learn the basics of control and electrical engineering. In the further course you will work actively in the technical office.

In the fourth year of apprenticeship you will prepare yourself for the upcoming final exam part 2 and work on your final project. Afterwards you will have achieved your training goal.
